Hi all. I am in recovery from alcohol use disorder and a process addiction. One thing I have noticed throughout the seasons is many interviewees have gone through a very meaningful personal journey of self-acceptance and self-knowledge. There have also been people who continue to struggle with substance use disorder while incarcerated and after release. I have noticed some people on the podcast have used language that in my experience is only used by people actively working a recovery program. I was wondering about the reality of addiction, addiction recovery, and the availability of recovery programs (12 step or other) in the prison system. Is withdrawal common? What are the resources available and how popular are they? How often are substances used by those that are incarcerated and is that an obstacle for the recovery of others? I could ask a ton of questions on this. Thanks!
Hi Nigel and Earlonne! Mary here from Las Vegas! Ear Hustle has helped me tremendously through my son's incarceration. I can't thank you all enough! You both are so stylish and fashionable. Im wondering do you two ever discuss or coordinate what each of you are wearing before appearances? And also, what are your favorite spots to wardrobe shop?
Nigel said she wanted juicy questions, so here's mine. This is for E: I've heard that while men are incarcerated, some straight men will engage in homosexual activity as a way to get some action rather than none. Do you think this is true? If so, does it mean the men weren't really 100% straight to begin with or do they just do it to get some level of intimacy since they can't be with a woman?
